Earth Leakage Relay CBCT

An Earth Leakage Relay (ELR) with a Core Balance Current Transformer (CBCT) is a safety device used to detect leakage currents in electrical systems. It monitors the difference between the live and neutral conductors, detecting any imbalance caused by leakage to earth. The CBCT, typically encircling the live and neutral conductors, detects these imbalances and sends a signal to the ELR. When an earth leakage current exceeds a preset threshold, the relay triggers an alarm or automatically disconnects the power supply, preventing potential electrical hazards like shock or fire.
